Topgolf
Q: Tell us about Topgolf.
A: Topgolf is a global sports and entertainment community focused on connecting people in meaningful ways. Topgolf blends technology and entertainment, golfers and non-golfers, children and adults – to create an experience that makes socializing a sport for everyone. We have 40 venues worldwide and have expansion planned to Australia, Mexico, Canada and Dubai!
Q: What is your background and what led you to Topgolf?
A: Although I am from the Chicagoland area originally, I was living in Nashville, TN when I accepted the Event Sales Manager position at Topgolf. While in Nashville, I was known as the “singing bartender” (you can find actual footage of that on YouTube) and was a bar owner. I was looking to move back home near my family and heard about Topgolf from some friends who loved the company. It seemed like the perfect place for me! The stars aligned, and now I am back in Illinois working for an incredible company. Joining the Topgolf family is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Q: What is your top goal for Topgolf?
A: The sky is the limit for growth and leadership at Topgolf! Ideally, I would like to make my way up to a National or even a C-level position. I have some work to do to get there, but the company is always expanding and has so much opportunity.
Q: What advice would you give for other women in business?
A: Especially in the business world, women should always build each other up and surround themselves with other motivated women. There is so much opportunity in this world and instead of fostering jealous work environments, we should be celebrating those special milestones.
Surrounding yourself with successful women will help you develop personally and professionally and will ultimately reflect in your own life.
Q: What advice would you give for working moms like yourself?
A: Don’t beat yourself up. I know how “Mom Guilt” feels and there is no need for it, as many moms are working hard for their families. You are doing a great job!
Q: What do you like most about your work?
A: Working for Topgolf has given me the chance to get involved with our local community. Topgolf also provides opportunities for Associates and Guests to fundraise, volunteer and provide a venue where everyone can get together and have a great time. Joining this company has also developed me professionally and personally. If you couldn’t tell, I am grateful to be a part of an amazing company.
Q. What keeps you up at night?
A: Other than my newborn and toddler? Seriously, my brain never stops. I am always running through all of my “to do” lists, grocery lists, what I ate that day, etc. Then I will think of a random question, have to know the answer immediately, run a Google search, end up on YouTube and four hours later be sucked into what each former contestant from “The Voice” is currently up to.
