Karen Moore
Karen is a Producer at Esser Hayes Insurance Group, Naperville, Illinois. She has two children, a daughter and son.
Q: Tell us about being a Producer at Esser Hayes.
A: Every day is different, fun and challenging! First, Esser Hayes is a fantastic place to work – we have a great team of professionals and a great work environment with lots of support. My job is meeting and helping families with their personal insurance, automobiles, home, personal articles and umbrella policies. I help educate and guide my clients through this very important process.
Q: What is your background and what led you to Esser Hayes?
A: I started in the insurance industry in 2000 as a Sales Producer and have worked with two other companies before working at Esser Hayes Insurance Group. Esser Hayes represents over 20 A rated personal insurance carriers so having a good understanding of the coverage each carrier offers is extremely important. Placing the right coverage with my clients is something I take great pride in doing.
Q: What do you like most about your work?
A: Being in the insurance business for nearly 18 years now, I can honestly say the best part of my day is meeting and helping so many families with their personal insurance. I get to know when their children turn 16, when they purchase a new car or home, when their children graduate from college – and then it starts all over again, insuring the children of clients I have insured for years. It’s just awesome!
Q: What advice would you give for other women in business?
A: Work hard, be true to yourself, and build genuine connections with clients. So much of my business is based on referrals, so making the right connections, and being truly interested in people can make a big difference.
Q: What is your involvement in the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce?
A: I am actively involved in the Women In Business component of the Chamber. I help on several committees and some of the special events that they host. In my opinion, Women In Business is the best group at the Chamber. I love meeting with all the other women, hearing their success stories, their challenges and successes. It’s honestly very uplifting to attend the meetings.
Q: Tell us one thing most people don't know about you.
A: Well, I have five brothers and one sister, so I am from a big family! I think this is where I get my competitive edge!
Q: What are you most proud of?
A: I think many women have said this before me, but I am most proud of my daughter and my son. They have both grown up to be responsible, caring, successful people – what more could anyone want?
