Involved in the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce for over 15 years, and Women in Business for the last few, CJ Lydon has just embarked on a new adventure utilizing her 25 years of sales experience.

Lydon and her three children moved to Naperville from Florida in 1990. As her children are now grown, with families of their own, she is relocating to Colorado to be close to one of her daughters and two granddaughters who just moved there within the last year.

Lydon was previously Membership Coordinator/Platinum Host at TopGolf and prior to that worked for 15 years as Saturn Corporation’s Financial Services Director. In Colorado, she will be beginning a new position as Sales Director at Wild Game Entertainment Establishments where she will oversee two sales managers and handle event bookings at their current location as well as another under construction and a third location slated for spring of 2017.

“My passion is connecting people, organizations and businesses to one another to help facilitate an environment where we are kind, giving, compassionate and connected to one another regardless of age, marital status, gender, ethnicity, social status or political views,” said Lydon, “What better way than to bring people together for parties, charitable events, corporate outings, reunions, workshops, etc… where people are talking, laughing, dining together and sharing a bit of themselves with the people around them. Events are the conduit for me to bring people together and once that happens I have my opportunity to impact their lives.”

According to Lydon the most important skill in any sales position is “Don't sell, be an active listener and then consult with your prospect and help lead them to the solution(s) you are able to provide”.  In her current position Lydon believes that the art of networking, reaching out and being an excellent source of valuable information for her clients and her employer will help her surpass her sales goals.

She tells other women in business not to settle. “Don't be afraid to go after that promotion, that big account, a different job/career path.  So many times in life we stay within the status quo and we don't take risks. I say "Yes" a lot in life because tomorrow isn't promised and I want to leave this earth knowing I did my best to have a positive impact on every single person I meet!”

In addition to her job, Lydon is also currently on the Board of KidsMatter, a former Board Member of Sunrise Rotary, Naperville Junior Women’s Club and Partners for Clean Choice.  And last year she was honored to be chosen as "Volunteer of the Month” by Naperville Bank & Trust.

In addition to her achieving her sales goals, Lydon will spend 2016 getting settled in her new home and new career and spending time with her family.  She has already made plans to visit her son and his family in Florida and come back to Illinois to visit her sister, daughter and her mom, who is living with advanced stages of Alzheimer’s. In her free time, she loves to spend time with family and friends, riding her Harley and her bicycle and playing golf.

“I think most people see me as a really outgoing individual, which I am. But really, all that I have ever wanted in life is to be truly happy,” said Lydon, “I'm still trying to learn how to love myself and heal from past hurts.  I guess we all can say that at some point.  I am very critical of myself and take everything literally so I have to learn how to balance all that in truth.”
